GRAIN ROT Fuse Guide: Find and Restore Elevator Power

A cross-checked launch-week route for the Power Outage or missing-fuse condition.

GRAIN ROT Fuse Guide: Find and Restore Elevator Power
Direct answerWhen the elevator rolls a missing or blown fuse, search nearby boxes, lockers and toolboxes, carry the fuse to the elevator panel, insert it, and confirm return power before starting a long loot route.

A missing fuse disables the return elevator in the launch-week Power Outage condition. Two independent player videos describe the same core sequence: identify the missing or blown fuse on the panel, search containers, carry the found fuse back to the elevator and insert it before relying on the exit. The official Steam page confirms that randomized fuses appear in the elevator loop, but the exact container route is player-observed and version-sensitive.

Confirm the problem on the panel

Read the modifier board before leaving. Power Outage is the observed modifier that removes return power. Do not confuse it with Lights Out. The modifier guide says Lights Out keeps the floor dark and has no fuse repair; searching every locker will not restore those lights.

The tutorial video calls the run state both “fuse missing” and “blown fuse.” This page treats those phrases as the same demonstrated search-and-return task because the player immediately searches for a replacement fuse. If a future build introduces a separate repair interaction, follow the live prompt rather than this launch-week wording.

Where the fuse can appear

Both videos mention lockers. The solo tutorial separately shows boxes, while the modifier guide mentions toolboxes. Start close to the elevator and sweep systematically. Open a room, check eligible containers, then mark it complete before moving on. Random generation means a coordinate from someone else’s run is not a reliable answer.

Keep one inventory space available. The tutorial player deliberately drops or leaves a tool so the fuse can be carried. Do not fill every hand with furniture while the team still lacks an exit.

Restore power and verify it

Return the fuse to the elevator panel and use the current interaction prompt to install it. Then confirm that the return control responds before the squad begins a deep hauling route. “We found it” is not the same as “the exit works”; the fuse can still be in somebody’s hands across the map.

The modifier guide also says extraction still requires its normal toll after power is restored. Repairing the circuit does not waive other exit conditions.

Editorial squad search suggestion

Assign one player to remember the elevator route, split only across adjacent rooms, and call out checked container types. Once the fuse is located, stop the search and escort it home. This formation is editorial guidance synthesized from the demonstrated fuse sequence; it was not directly tested or compared by the retained videos.

Evidence status: randomized elevator fuses are visible in official Steam media. Container locations, priority order and installation sequence were cross-checked between two player videos captured during launch week and may change in later versions.
